Kybella^®

Kybella^® is a cosmetic injection made from deoxycholic acid and is the first injectable treatment approved by the FDA which can contour and improve the appearance of submental fullness, more frequently called a double chin. Patients will work with our expert injectors at Wellness District to form a treatment plan which is tailored to the specific patient’s desired chin profile. Usually, multiple injections will be needed to achieve patients desired results.

The active ingredient used in Kybella^® injections is deoxycholic acid. This is a naturally-occurring molecule found in the body and it helps with the absorption and breakdown of dietary fat. When the medication is injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella^® eliminates the fat cells found there. Once these cells are eliminated, they can no longer absorb or store fat.
